SOPRIS leading expansion into Latin America

It’s been a tremendously busy first half of 2016 as SOPRIS Technologies has been on the road and meeting with potential Customers South of the Border. In February SOPRIS hosted a live Spanish language webinar in which SOPRIS CEO, Jorge Zepeda-Godinez, partnered with Zenoss Exec, David Loia, to address the “4 Secretos que Aumentarán el Valor de TI en su Empresa” (4 Secrets to Increasing your IT’s Business Value).

In April, the road took SOPRIS into the heart of Mexico City where with SOPRIS’ in-country partner Corporativo ICSI, SOPRIS hosted the first-ever ZLocal in the Latin America region.  Held at the exclusive Piso 51 in the Torre Mayor in the center of the city, this event was attended by some of our largest Customers spanning verticals such as Banking, Telecom, Transportation, Government, Finance, and Energy segments.  Five partners making up the partner ecosystem being created by SOPRIS in Mexico also attended the event, some together with prospective customers.

The impact on prospective customers from this engaging and highly interactive session has been immediate!  Customers who have been evaluating competing solutions are now focusing on considering incorporating Zenoss and SOPRIS into their plans. And in a couple of cases, Customers stopped work on evaluating competing solutions in favor of doing a comprehensive evaluation of Zenoss.

The business pain points from Customers/Partners at this local event mirrored those that we have seen during our expansion into the region.  For example, Customers are looking to modernize/refresh their existing “legacy-based” monitoring solutions that until now have been ruled by the “big-4” players. Customers tell us they see these solutions lagging in technology and having high operational and support costs. We are also seeing increased interest by customers in offering Monitoring as a Service offers to grow revenues by addressing the changing needs of corporate customers who are looking to outsource functions like network monitoring to highly trust-worthy, reliable, competent partners. Additionally, organizations are eager to train their employees with the new transformative techniques/skills that will help their IT organizations become core centers of agility, expertise, and innovation. To help Customers reskill their IT teams and undertake substantial change management programs, SOPRIS recently launched “SOPRIS University” for delivering on-demand, customized, advanced technical training.  The inaugural training event was held in April, 2016 in Mexico City in which Zenoss training was delivered for the first time ever in the region – and in Spanish.

The energy the SOPRIS and Zenoss partnership created thru the first half of 2016 has opened a lot of doors in Latin America.  With over 50 active engagements, SOPRIS is looking forward to continuing to grow the Zenoss footprint with some of the largest (as well as small and medium) players in the region!
